How to Reset Yourself After Halloween
Whether it was one too many pumpkin beers or extra handfulsof your kids’ Halloween candy, chances are, you overindulged a bit this holiday. The good news: you’re not alone. The better news: we’re here to help. Here’s five ways to get back into the fitness grind after Halloween:
1) Get Your Mind Right
First things first: cheat days (or weekends) aren’t “wrong”, they don’t “undo” all the good work you’ve done. No, it’s not good if they turn into every-daysinstead of cheat-days, but you’re going to dread and struggle through every single workout if you’re just trying to punish yourself for living a little.Recognize that you’re human, these things happen (and are enjoyable), and they are part of fitness as a lifestyle- since nobody’s perfect all the time.
2) Sweat Together
You know you’re not the only one who fell off the wagon. Start November strong and have your #fitfam hold you accountable. We’re 80% more likely to hit the gym when we know someone else is counting on us, so text a friend and have them meet you on the turf. Partner workouts always push you harder anyways!
(And remember, if you’re a Premium member, you have unlimited guest privileges- now’s the time to put them to good use!)
3) Try Something New
When was the last time you did something for the first time? We’re always adding new classes to our lineup, and there’s nothing like a Les Mills BODYPUMP class to sweat off the candy calories.
4) Meal Prep
You can’t outtrain a bad diet. Use this weekend to plan your menu, hit the store and dedicate a few solid hours in the kitchen.Seeing fresh proteins and carbs in your fridge is a double win: you won’t need to grab another Snickers fill you up, and you’ll feel accomplished and motivated knowing you’re set for the week. If the idea of meal prep has you overwhelmed already, use one of our favorites, 95 Nutrition.
5) Book a Session!
The holiday season is like our personal trainers’ Super Bowl. This is what they train for! Call your local Catalyst (link to phone numbers here) to schedule your complimentary session with one of our certified personal trainers. (linkto trainer page here) We’re all in this together!
