Finding Passion in Fitness

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and what you do outside the gym.

I’m a hairstylist with a deep passion for fitness. During COVID, I had to adjust my routine and work out at home, but as soon as gyms reopened, I returned to Catalyst Fitness for the social, physical, and mental benefits that come with training in a motivating environment.

The Start of a Weight Loss Transformation

Q: What inspired you to start your fitness journey, and how did you get started?

Fitness has always been a part of my life, but after COVID, I made a renewed commitment to my health. I lost 40 pounds by increasing my workout intensity and focusing on a mix of cardio and strength training. Personal training played a huge role in my success—working with trainers at Catalyst, especially Chris, helped me refine my workouts and improve my nutrition for sustainable results.

Personal Training

Q: How long have you been a member at Catalyst Fitness, and how has your routine evolved?

I’ve been a Catalyst Fitness member for over 30 years—since it was Gold’s Gym! To keep my routine fresh, I visit multiple locations, including Wehrle, Elmwood, Maple, and French Road. My training style has evolved from basic workouts to structured strength training and personalized weight loss strategies guided by expert trainers.

Overcoming Challenges and Staying Motivated

Q: Have you faced any challenges, and how did you overcome them?

Balancing my schedule and making time for the gym wasn’t always easy, but I learned to prioritize my health and make fitness a non-negotiable part of my day.

Q: What motivates you to keep coming back?

The variety of Catalyst locations keeps things exciting, and the supportive community keeps me accountable. Seeing progress in my weight loss and strength fuels my motivation to push harder.

The Power of Community and Accountability

Q: Who or what inspires you to push yourself during workouts?

My close friends inspire me to show up and give my best effort. Plus, knowing that my workouts boost my energy for the day makes every session worth it.

Achieving and Setting New Fitness Goals

Q: What are some goals you’ve achieved since joining Catalyst, and what are you working toward next?

I’m incredibly proud of my 40-pound weight loss! My next focus is to build more muscle tone and continue shedding a little more weight. With the guidance of personal trainers, I’m confident I’ll hit my next set of goals.

Q: How has being part of the Catalyst community impacted your fitness journey?

The Catalyst Fitness community is unmatched—the friendships I’ve made here keep me accountable, motivated, and excited to work out every day.
